Guess what? Our super fun t-ball program, BlastBall, starts tomorrow! Don't forget to sign up! Also this program, like others, depends on volunteers to run successfully. Tonight, 5:30 @ the Y, there's a quick volunteer coaches meeting. We'd love to see you there!

Day one of Grease Monkeys Jr is in the books...and it was awesome. Lot's of fun and learning was had!

UPDATE: Both our youth programs happening tonight WILL be outside! Track & Field will happen at the Forest City HS Track and BlastBall will happen at the grassy field just south of the YMCA.... See you tonight!

Announcing Healthy Kids Day 2021! This is a FREE event happening next Wednesday, May 5th from 2:15-5pm. We'll have multiple sports/activities including: football, track, soccer, wiffle ball, and bags. Also, healthy snacks!... There are 2 ways to participate: First, free play. Free play will be located at the grass area to the south of the Y for each activity running the entire duration of the event. Second, competitive events. This will be skills competitions for each sport (excluding bags) and will happen at Bolstorff Field (Waldorf's football field). The schedule: 2:30 Football + Track 3:30 Soccer Penalty Kicks 4:15 Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby We ask that those who wish to participate in the competitive events register by the end of the day on May 4th. We are SUPER excited because Grease Monkey Jr, our small engines program for 2nd-4th graders, kicks off today. Participants will get a hands on experience disassembling and reassembling parts of small engines. During the process they will learn real world concepts of how combustion engines work to create power, how the different parts of an engine play important roles in the process, and how to do basic engine maintenance. They will also learn about various hand tools, shop ...safety, and careers in related fields. Real engines, real tools, and real work:). This session is full, but comment below if you have a 2nd-4th grader who be interested. If we have enough we will consider a second sessionminimum of 8. As an FYI, we have zero girls signed up for this round. These are important life skills for all! We would love to offer a girls only session if we can get enough interestminimum of 8.
