May is Mental Health Month! We are partnering with Mental Health America to share #TOOLS2THRIVE for mental health. As always, Foundation 2 is here for you 24/7 with free, confidential mental health support for you or a loved one.

During #MentalHealthMonth, can you prioritize taking care of your health, including mental health? Try to incorporate activities that benefit your mental health, such as regular exercise, hobbies, or relaxation practices. Taking daily steps to manage mental health can prevent a crisis. No matter what you are feeling, you can call Foundation 2 at 319-362-2174 to talk to a trained, confidential counselor.

Mark your calendars! Ely Public Library is hosting virtual events on mental health and suicide prevention through the summer. Plan to join them to learn more about important issues that impact everyone.

Join our team! We are hiring a part-time Access Center Crisis Counselor to provide triage and intake services at the Linn County Access Center in Cedar Rapids. This position is a Foundation 2 employee who will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing mental health and substance use services at the Linn County Access Center. During Giving Tuesday last November, our donors came together to help provide exercise equipment for the Foundation 2 emergency youth shelter. We are pleased to share that the equipment has been purchased and has been a great addition to the shelter! Youth are able to burn off energy and steam on the equipment, especially during the cold months and during COVID. Thank you for helping support enrichment and support opportunities for youth who spend time at the youth shelter.
