Growing with Grace Early Learning Center

Today we celebrated Wacky Wednesday with "Mismatched Day"! In addition to all of the great mismatched outfits today, we also enjoyed wacky activities such as drawing wacky pictures upside down, playing whack-a-letter with our fly swatters and letter tiles, and we made wacky wheels for snack with bread, peanut butter and jelly! We enjoyed reading the stories "Wacky Wednesday" and "There's a Wocket in My Pocket", and other Dr Seuss favorites today! Tomorrow we will celebrate our "Many Colored Days" and wear our favorite colors to school!

Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss! We enjoyed "Read Across America" day today at GWG with a pajama day! We also enjoyed birthday snacks, coloring birthday cards, playing Dr Seuss memory, stringing Dr Seuss lacing cards, and playing card games! We also read many, many Dr Seuss stories! Tomorrow is "Wacky Wednesday" Mismatch Day!

This is a reminder that GWG is CLOSED tomorrow for Good Friday. We hope your family has a glorious Easter weekend!

"My Many Colored Days" brought us opportunities to celebrate our favorite color, learn about how colors mix to make new colors, and learn about how to match colors to play a Go Fish card game! "Oh the Places You'll Go!" brought us the opportunity to talk about places we would like to go someday, as we created our own unique hot air balloon and wrote a message on the basket of a place we would like to go. After we read the book "Go Dog Go!" we recreated the story using materials in our classroom to tell the story of the dogs going to the party in the tree :)

Today was our last day of Dr. Seuss week, and we packed a lot of fun into our day! After reading the book "Fox in Socks", we work together to create a giant floor puzzle with a scene from the story. We read the book "Put Me in the Zoo", and then made a snack that reminded us of the main character of the story, We also used magnatiles to create our own zoo! And the highlight of the day was after we read "Bartholomew and the Oobleck", we made our own Oobleck and explored the exciting textures of Oobleck and how it's not a solid or a liquid! We encouraged the kids to dress in silly socks, animal print, or animal shirts today! We enjoyed all of their creative ideas :)

"April showers bring May flowers!" On this rainy April day we watercolor painted for W week and Ms. Allison turned our paintings into these beautiful tissue paper flowers! We hope these flowers brighten your day!
