More on the COVID-19 vaccines from my own experience and those of my colleagues in both the Pfizer and Moderna trials: 1) You CANNOT get COVID-19 from these v...accines, it is IMPOSSIBLE. The fragment of genetic code that is injected into you is MAN MADE...it is NOT the virus itself or an inactivated form of it. 2) This minute amount of genetic material stimulates your own cells to ultimately produce antibodies against the real virus should it invade your body...AND IT WORKS....95% of the time. 3) BE ADVISED...to achieve this immunity, your body must be fooled into thinking the real virus has invaded....so...10-15% of folks on average will truly feel their body's response to the vaccine. That equals in some a sore arm, maybe fatigue, maybe some body aches, headache and in fewer still a short-lived low grade fever. This stuff could last up to 24 hrs. or so. Take some acetaminophen or ibuprofen and the vast majority of folks will power through just fine, it will be worth it. SERIOUSLY...be glad that it happened, you know then that it worked. Younger folks will likely feel it more, us older folks not so much or hardly at all. 4) There have been NO serious or Grade 4 side effects in the 44,000 of us Pfizer trial folks, nor in the Moderna trial. 5) COVID-19 is a truly horrible disease, nothing like we've seen in our careers...I still can't believe that people ever believed that this was a hoax, "only the flu", or a media conspiracy for some political end. IT IS NOT! Take the vaccine when it is offered to you, unless you have valid medical reasons not to. If you don't believe any of this...fine...that means more vaccine for the rest of us. Demand will surely outpace supply for the next few months, but, supply will ramp up quickly thanks to this new vaccine technology, unlike with H1N1 back in 2009. You just have to be patient. So, be smart...and you'll be OK in the end. There are truly better days ahead my friends. See more
