To round out #NationalLibraryWeek2021 we just had to take part in another "Book Face Friday"! We so enjoyed National Library Week and hope you did too!

We are always happy to have patrons come visit us but it's even more fun to be considered a place that is welcoming, useful, and safe for students that want to practice social skills, and boost awareness of specific topics. Thank you Mid Prairie Community- Special Education K-4 for utilizing us in this way. Everyone is welcome here!

It's almost time for us to wrap up the Friends Annual Book Sale! But before we do, is anyone interested in some one-time-read, James Partterson Hardcovers?! What a donation!

Happy Thursday! It's gray and chilly outside but it's warm and bright in the library!

To celebrate National Library Week we've collected some fun statistics and scattered them throughout the library. Like inside of our foyer display case, it's showcasing the top 10 most popular items of the last 10 years! Come on in and take a look.

We love weekly story time but let's be honest, we love the egg shakers more! ***We will probably have 1 or 2 more story times indoors at the Kalona location of #washingtoncountyymca and then we will be able to get back outside for library programming based on CDC guidelines. It's National Library Week! Come in and pick up a bookmark, coloring page or word search to celebrate! We also have lots of "library" themed books to choose from!

Our winner today is a 98 year old woman from Pleasantview who sent her son in here to play "jinx" on a triple word, double letter space for a score of 78 points! Her son came in 2nd with the word "haze" earning 32 points, and an unknown patron received 3rd place with "empower" for 28 points. Thank you to all who participated and beat out both library directors for top scores! (In my excitement this morming, I started the game off in the wrong location on the board so sorry!)

Today is National Scrabble Day! If you can't find time to play just stop in and add a word to our board! Or, find reasons to use obscure high point value words in your every day conversation, it'll he fun!
