THE PENTECOST Jesus promised to be with us always to the very end of time. But He ascended into Heaven. He’s no longer physically present on earth. Even though that sounds like bad news, Jesus said it’s actually really good news because He would send His Holy Spirit to comfort us, to guide us, and to gift us for the purpose of His mission. And He sent His Holy Spirit at Pentecost. This weekend we’re diving into that incredible story and what it means for our lives today. Wh...en it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [Tell your families how to access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family. Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week: Bible Story: The Pentecost Big Idea: God gives us the Holy Spirit to help us follow Jesus. Memory Verse: But the Father will send the Friend in my name to help you. The Friend is the Holy Spirit. John 14:26 (NIrV) After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson: Family activity guide Coloring page for kids GO! Home guide for kids Bible verse sign Jesus still gives His Holy Spirit to everyone who believes in Him. Isn’t that incredible news? The very presence of God is with you wherever you go and whatever you do. He has never been nearer to His people. I pray that this week you would experience that presence.

BARNABAS THE ENCOURAGER One of the earliest followers of Jesus was a man named Joseph. Only nobody called him that. He was always building others up, so his friends nicknamed him Barnabas which means son of encouragement. Isn’t that a great nickname to have? When others were in need, Barnabas gave generously. When others were struggling, Barnabas jumped in to help. When others were feeling discouraged, Barnabas was ready with an encouraging word. The church needed and s...till needs men and women like Barnabas! When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. Memory Verse: Therefore encourage one another and build each other up. 1 Thessalonians 5:11a (NIrV) After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson: Family activity guide Coloring page for kids GO! If you can’t think of anyone, ask God to open your eyes to opportunities to carry on Barnabas’ legacy of encouragement. See more
