Pekin Schools

Reed Lauderman, 7th grader, represented Pekin Jr High last weekend at the Iowa Jr. High Rodeo State Finals. Reed came from behind in both his events to finish 4th in both Breakaway Roping and Ribbon Roping. Reed will be competing at the National JH Rodeo Finals in Des Moines June 20-26 with over 1,000 competitors from all 50 states, along with Canada/ Mexico. Jefferson County Public Health has asked for us to inform our community that they will be hosting a Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Monday, June 7 at the Fairfield Middle School. No appointment is required - just walk in and get vaccinated anytime from 8 am to 6 pm. Anyone 12 and over is eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

I'm pleased to welcome Lea Davis to the Pekin family. Lea will serve as our new 7-12 math teacher! Hi my name is Lea Davis. I was born and raised in Burlington, Iowa so I spent many summers on the Mississippi River. For college I went to SCC, my local community college, then transferred to University of Northern Iowa, where I graduated majoring in Mathematics Teaching 5-12 and a minor in Statistics/Actuarial Science. I look forward to meeting everyone and being a part of the Pekin Community School district.
