The popularity of Clear Creek Trail in Coralville, Iowa is on the rise with no signs of slowing down. Our team, along with Stanley Consultants, is developing a plan to extend the trail to Kent Park in Tiffin, Iowa, providing a gateway for residents to the neighboring town and more recreational opportunities.

Confluence, along with our project partner Sabatini Architects, is currently developing a master plan for the Shawnee Indian Mission in Fairway, Kansas. Today’s steering committee meeting, which includes the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site, City of Fairway, KS, and Ben Barnes, Chief of the Shawnee Tribe, is one of many collaborative sessions that will occur throughout the project process. We look forward to developing a vision for the property that will allow the visitor to develop a deeper understanding of the history of this state historic site in the mid-1800s.

Confluence is proud to have worked on this project from the beginning; helping the owner through the twists and turns in the development world. This article highlights one piece of the puzzle. We look forward to sharing the complete vision for KeeTown Loop with everyone in the near future.

Last week, a new Confluence team member joined us in Des Moines. Please welcome Abbey Hebbert, Planner I! Originally from Liberal, Kansas, Abbey received her Master’s degree in Regional and Community Planning from Kansas State University. Abbey’s passion for planning stems from the desire to create communities for all to enjoy through interactive plan making and design. After spending a summer in Copenhagen, Denmark and traveling Europe, her perspective on how to accomplish such means through design completely shifted. When she’s not at the office, you can find Abbey reading, spending time with friends and family, exploring her new city of Des Moines, and searching for the greatest cup of coffee. The St. Cloud Riverwalk in St. Cloud, Minnesota has received a Merit Award (Unbuilt) from the Minnesota chapter of ASLA! The St. Cloud Riverwalk is a transformation place that uses the Mississippi River to reconnect the city’s residents and create a new image for the city’s future. Our team re-established ecological, economic, and social connections to the Mississippi to transform the city. The multi-phased project features a bio-stabilized shoreline, extended regional trail ...connections with separate lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, a community amphitheater, and numerous recreational opportunities including sledding, ice skating, canoeing, fishing and swimming.
