Yesterday the news came out Toyota Financial Services in Cedar Rapids would close by the end of 2022, affecting over 600 people. Today Can Do Can Teach has a Facebook group with more than 300 members joined in less than 24hrs. These people all pulling together to help 600+ other people get back into the workforce as soon as they are ready.... Some people were close to the end of a 20-year career with Toyota Financial Services, but as things played out over the last 12 months, tough decisions made have left more than 600 people deciding between relocation to Az, Tx, GA, or face unemployment in Iowa. No one wants this...., Not now or ever. In the fall of 2020, GoDaddy faced consolidations eliminating positions in Cedar Rapids. A similar Facebook group resulted in close to 100% employment for 300+ people. Those outcomes focus the group on providing resources that help people land the next opportunity they want.
