Pella Police Department

The Pella Police Department would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Chief of Police John De Vries. Thank you John for your commitment to the City of Pella and your contributions to the Pella PD.

We would like to thank Sergeant Justin Bailey for using his craftsmanship to give the department’s mission statement a new display. The mission statement is displayed throughout the police department and looks great!

The Pella Police Department would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend. Thank you to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great country, we will never forget! If you are traveling be prepared for the additional vehicles on the road. Give yourself plenty of time, obey the speed limit and wear your seat belt. If you are planning to drink use a designated driver. We want everyone to have a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend.

You still have time to get your team together! The Pella Police Department is hosting a 3 on 3 basketball public safety fundraiser event to raise money for the IOWA COPS foundation. The event is Saturday, June 12th at the Pella High School, doors open at 9am. You must have a public safety ID to participate in the 3 on 3, either LEO, Fire or EMS (no ringers). $5 admission at the door, $45 team entry fee- double elimination. Trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.

Let’s all band together and wish our favorite captain a DYNAMITE birthday!! Captain Paul Haase puts in a lot of time and effort to ensure things run smoothly for the Pella Police Department and safely for the citizens of Pella. (Disclaimer: these are road flares.
